Another Million-Dollar Idea: openconversations.net

I thought I had better check the URL, just in case it already exists. Doesn't look like it. openconversations.net kind of sounds like some cloud-based group therapy start-up. Which is why I suck at marketing -- should call it something like jogooboo.com to make it 'sticky'.

Anyway ... My latest million dollar idea awaits!

It's a chat app (wait! There's more!)

So you set up a chat with one or more people and talk away. Nothing brilliant there. The only difference is this is completely open to the internet. Anybody can see your chat, and your chat history.

And then there is a second chat right next to it. This is for the people watching your chat. The people inside the chat can never see this second chat, and they won't know how many people are watching. So the people watching your chat can talk all about you and you won't know.

It's perfect for voyeurism. I can imagine entire soap-operas unfolding over chat. School-based dramas, office romances, rom-coms. You would never know what was real or fake. You would never know if you are being a sold a lie to maximize engagement.

Hell, even the AI bots could get in on the fun. Why not? They're ruining social media already. Could be fun to watch bots arguing for a decade over the price of pizza.

Anyway, I write these ideas here so I don't go out and build them. I think we can all agree that's a good thing.
